More Japan!!!

I am really bad at this blogging thingy. I posted the last one prematurely. Okay, so here are more pictures of neato signs and stuff.

Roger bought me a "Very Vicky" Blythe doll and I went to a really cool vintage store and got an Ultraman lighter holder!

Kyoto tower, new friends and a Santa themed Love hotel!

Some beautiful food and drinks

A magic show?

Shrines and castles and temples oh my! It was like walking through a living postcard...

Nara the first capital of Japan was having their 1300 anniversary. Deer everywhere!!! They were very tame and I wanted to smuggle one home.

While in Osaka, we got tattooed by Benny. He works at Chopstick Tattoo near the Americamura area. A little over a year ago, I bought a book "Hanamichi"...had no idea it was Benny's book until I saw it at his shop. I got an amazing chrysanthemum on my chest and Roger got a really cool greywash skull. The shop had a great apprentice named Kyon (sp?). She always had coffee ready and was super helpful. Benny did fantastic work and even took us out to dinner afterwards. I'm truly grateful to have met him and make two new friends in Japan.
I also want to thank Don and Hiroko. Because of them, we had more than a tourist's view. We made friends everywhere we went and saw and did things like rock stars! Can't wait to go back!

Hello Japan!!!

It's been a dream of mine to visit Japan, and the dream came true! For nearly 2 glorious weeks, Roger and I visited Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Himeji, and Nara. No Tokyo this time but I really didn't mind. It was sensory overload! I think it was a wonderful time of the year to visit...cool weather and trees changing color. I can sum up our trip with what would sound like a zany tale of 5 friends running amuck on the many streets of Japan where they watch fish tanks become food, practice drunken martial arts, run around shrines, castles, deer parks, cityscapes, shopping meccas, eat Okinawan food while being entertained by live traditional Okinawan music (thank you Kana-san), drink snake sake directly from the jar containing the venomous habu snake, and end the evening at a famous musicians' bar drinking with japanese zydeco enthusiasts and the great great grandson of a ninja. No seriously.
I can't possibly describe all that we did and see, but here are some pictures to share. Mind you, this isn't even a quarter of the photos we took.

New Year...just another day

That's what I think. It used to be about new beginnings, promises, and hope....now I just see another day. I'm not trying to sound all depressed and stuff. Actually I feel great. Annie cut my burden of long hair and now I feel sassy! Roger got me a New Years present in the form of a healthy tiny chihuahua. Meet Beanie! She's marked like a rotty and bites like one too. CoCo will never be replaced, but my heart just made room for another chi-chi.

Don't you just love her?!!!

Laura's visit

It was Laura's birthday visit. It was too short and I missed her soooo much. We went on a shopping spree and eating spree. It was kind of a tease...having the comfort of old friends, just to have them ripped from me. blah!

Halloween '09

I dressed up like the queen of hearts and helped Sabrina put together her "vampire japanese school girl" uniform. I went out to see her deejay on 6th street. I had no tolerence for alcohol and i got super sloppy and had to leave my car downtown. I think this may have been my last halloween outing.

Time to move on...

since coco's passing, i've been absolutely inconsolable. bad enough i was detoxing from a bipolar medicine that had adverse reactions with my brain chemistry. so sad tina + tina not on meds + dead coco = insane/suicidal tina. how's that for basic math?
well i'm on prozac again for the millionth time. and i think i'll see through this life for a bit...see what it has to offer. besides, laura is visiting on the 7th and i have to live through that at least.
i still cry everyday though. austin is a close knit town and alot of people knew coco, so i get the "how's coco?" question every other day. i have been avoiding some places like sugar mama's (best cupcakes in austin). they had pupcakes there once and the whole store loved coco.
anywho...i think i'll do a little rant first.
Why Oh Why do you pick me to do tattoo work that looks nothing like my style and preference when i specifically write on the web site hey, if my stuff is like what you're into call me! i don't display things i don't do/ don't like to do on my website. really...I DO THIS ON PURPOSE!!!

and this is what i would buy if i had like 10 thousand dollars to spend , but it had to be a purse.

and here are some happy pictures to share:
